Am I Nuts?

I can honestly testify that there have been numerous times when I asked myself if I were really going nuts! I can almost hear someone in my head asking me Are You Normal or Nuts? every time I put on my right leg in first before my left leg when I wear pants, or just the fact that I bring my Protex soap and facial wash with me everywhere I go. See, I even have a voice inside my head that I actually listen to! I must really be going nuts!

So when I stumbled upon an article entitled 'Are You Normal or Nuts?' on Reader's Digest.com, it instantly caught my attention! And one of the reader's question had me thinking.. The reader asked,

"Sometimes I try to avoid stepping on cracks or spaces between tiles. It's as if I can feel the cracks through my shoes. Seriously, am I nuts?"

I could seriously relate to this person because I used to feel that way to but after I read the feedback given, I began to loosen up. The doctor on the other end said,

"Seriously, will stepping on a crack break your mother's back? If you believe it will, then yes, you are nuts and need professional counseling. Otherwise, recognize that we all have rituals we've performed since we were kids. Some people have to brush their teeth in a certain order. Others say "bunny, bunny" at the start of a new month. Most of us knock on wood. "Many of these compulsions are left over from childhood, and they've gotten a little stuck," says Harvard psychiatrist Jacqueline Olds, MD. It's a trivial ritual. Seriously, don't worry about it."

Phew!! I guess now I know that I'm not exactly crazy but it's just a trivial ritual. Maybe I gotta break the ritual before it takes over my life!! I hope you guys don't think I'm crazy though.. LOL! Don't laugh at me ok! If you wanna laugh at my expense, then fine, but only for a minute! I still have my sense of humor intact. Unsporty

Oh, and speaking of missing out, I've also been missing out on one of my favorite past times; SPORTS! I haven't been doing sports in such a longggg time!! I can't really remember when was the last time I had a good sweat from playing basketball. I used to sweat a lot from playing basketball or whacking some balls at the driving range. Nowadays, the only exercise I get is from carrying and lugging around equipment! I sure do miss sports!

Missing Out!

I can't believe I actually missed Team USA and Team China take over each other in this year's Olympic Games. Oh, and I'm talking about Basketball here, people! I've been so busy that I haven't been able to watch any of the games yet! I didn't even get to watch the opening and I heard that it was superb. I guess this is what happens when you become an events executive especially without the boss around.. I won't even be able to attend a friend's wedding this Saturday because I'll be going to Seremban for another leg of the KAMI Tour Concert. And the wedding would be tonnes of fun because Syura will be back from KK and there's gonna be a big reunion, one gathering that will finally have everyone together! And I just gotta miss it right!!

Oh well, that's work.. and I gotta get back to it before more screwups happen!

Oh, and RIP Bernie Mac! He was one of my favorite comedians! He'll be truly missed by me!

Taking the Reign

It's the new ad for Land Rover that features the hot blooded Royal, Zara Phillips who also happens to be the World's Equestrian Champion. Not only is she hot, she's royalty, but she's also ranked champion of the world! Not that's what you can't call Horsing Around! LOL!

Avril Fever

I've been hit! And I've been hit hard!! The Avril Fever has gone straight to my head and this is what it's made me done....

It's dumbly hilarious.. I know! But things were getting so crazy at the office with all the projects coming up that we just had to let loose. So what better way to let loose than sport on a blonde wig and act all crazy! The wigs are supposed to be donned by the Avril promoters we have but we 'loaned' it for a couple of hours! LOL!

Now you know how nasty the people at Nasty Inc can get!

I found my way

I have a Diploma in IT, a Degree in Media Innovation and Management, did an internship in an HR department in Schlumberger and I'm currently working as a Senior Events Executive (yes, I got promoted! ) at Nasty Inc. Phew!! Weird career changes huh? I know.. I know! But for all it's worth, I'm glad I finally landed on something I love doing even though it took me a while to realize what I'm really interested in. I wonder what would have happened if I continued on my initial path in Information Technology. I might already have a Cisco certification and I'd probably be a hot shot IT nerd! Or maybe, I'd hate my career and be stuck as an IT consultant for the rest of my life! LOL!
